SOUTH CAROLINA'S SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION ON REMOVAL OF THE CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG

The South Carolina's Senate on Tuesday passed legislation to remove the Confederate Battle flag from State Capitol grounds where it has flown for five decades.
Flying the Confederate Flag is viewed by many as a symbol of slavery. In a final 36-3 vote in the Senate, a bill was passed to banish the flag from the State House grounds to a museum.
It is now headed to the State House of Representatives which voted to bring it to the floor on Wednesday.
The momentum to bring down the flag arose  after the deadly shooting in the historic black church in Charleston last month which led to the death of several including serving senator, Clementa Pinckney by 21 year old Dylann Roof
