I went to the Kiehls launch of Daily Reviving Concentrate

 I love Kiehls.

I have an obsession with their Midnight Recovery Oil which is insanely good. In fact, its one of the only cosmetics that I would happily pay full price for with no guilty feeling. I love it.

So I was interested to see that they have a day version of this. If you have used MRO then you know that its a bit oily for day use. Mind you, in saying that, I used it on cosmetic burns* before and it healed them nicely. I've mixed it with foundation too and its lovely for that.

*Cosmetic burns are where your cosmetics are so harsh on your skin that they strip the natural oils away leaving an exposed red, raw and very painful burn like mark. I don't know if this is the right term for it but its the closest I have ever gotten to describing it. I got mine from using a harsh chemical toner for extremely oily skin on very dry painful skin. Ouch!

Anyway, I was interested to see what this would mean. Kiehl's held an evening recently where we were invited to come and see, try and test the oil for ourselves.
They decided to hold the event in Reiss with catering from Patisserie Valerie. Those guys make amazing cakes. So with a glass of champagne in hand, I learned a little about Kiehls and a lot about the new oil.

I've been aware of the history of Kiehls since attending a press night a few years ago and was surprised to learn they were originally a chemist before they were a skincare brand. They have been going for years as well opening in 1851. This is one old brand!

These guys know their stuff. As I said, only brand I will pay full price for with no guilt. Working as a make up artist means that I get a lot of PRO discounts which has spoiled how I shop. I shop for my kit with wild abandon but for myself, I have guilt! So this is something I really would buy with no shame or regrets. I love their products. In having a sample and a look at everything, I accidentally managed to sell myself a product as well. I found their perfume selection and fell in love with one of their perfumes. I'm heartbroken about this because I'm trying to wean myself off my expensive love of perfume. I was also going to buy Lush next month!
Daily Reviving Concentrate is a dry oil. This means that the oily feeling of Midnight Recovery is not there. It sinks into the skin and is absorbed instantly. It's described as an energising oil which helps your skin to look radiant from morning to night.
Radiance is the big thing in skincare at the moment. This glow, dewy and fresh look. Its huge on the catwalks at the minute to have really fresh healthy skin.

The oil contains ginger root essential oil which helps to protect the skin from free radicals and damage. Sunflower oil which helps to repair the texture of the skin and tamanu oil which helps to hydrate it.
I think it is on sale in Kiehls for £36 which the same as the Midnight Recovery. Which you can find here
